An iOS app that distils notes into usable knowledge with AI — application development for Apple iOS platforms
Migrated from the artefacts of an earlier web-app project into the Apple world — with a clear new focus: synthesising notes with AI, securely, right on the smartphone.
This application was migrated from the web-app artefacts of an earlier project of mine into a native Swift foundation — Swift / Swift code / SwiftUI / SwiftData — with Xcode & the Apple Simulator in meticulous detail work.
The project had been on ice since 2022, because the client at the time dropped out and I saw no use for it until now.
In the meantime it turned out that the manual synthesis of notes can be considerably eased — and the quality of the results markedly improved — through the use of AI models.
On one hand, Apple Intelligence comes into play, keeping data security very high; on the other, integrating large frontier models makes it possible to handle an enormous workload — right on the smartphone.
The app is currently in an early alpha phase and is expected to be completed in the autumn — after all, the entire development happens in my spare time.
The use of AI is deliberately kept to a minimum in this project: real, hands-on coding is excellent training and an indispensable foundation for working soundly with AI agents.
This guiding principle runs like a common thread through my work and areas of activity. Stay tuned — more on this exciting project here soon.
